PURPOSE:To improve gradations of an image, prevent fogging, and obtain a sharp image by using an endless base electrode and an endless counter electrode, and providing an exposure part at the base electrode side. CONSTITUTION:Toner scattered uniformly over a conveyance body 1 to form a single layer is charged electrostatically by an electrostatic charge part 5, for example, positively. Light passed through, for example, a light part 8 of a positive original 7 illuminates the electrostatically charged toner at the exposure part 6 on a conveyance body 1. When the conveyance body 1 is in a conductive state during the exposure, the photoconductive toner at the irradiated part 9 is excited to eliminate the electrostatic charge polarity, and toner corresponding to a dark part 10 rotates together with the conveyance body 1 while having the positive polarity. A flying part 11 impresses a voltage with the polarity opposite to the residual charges of the toner to the counter electrode 2 and the toner flies onto the counter electrode 2 to form a positive image. A transfer material 13 is charged electrostatically from its reverse surface to the polarity opposite to the toner electrostatically charged charges at a transfer part 12 by using a corona electrifier 14 to obtain the positive image on the transfer material 13. Thus, the sharp image is obtained. |
