PURPOSE:To delay the damage speed of the refractory of a tuyere and that of the periphery thereof, in a steel making furnace equipped with plural bottom blow tuyeres each having a double tube structure, by dividing said tuyeres into a refining operation one and a nonoperation one, and alternately altering both of them by exchanging the inner tube of each double tube structure. CONSTITUTION:In a steel making furnace wherein bottom blow tuyeres T1-T7 each having a double tube structure consisting of an inner tube 1 and an outer tube 2 are provided to the furnace bottom of a bottom blow converter, refining oxygen gas is injected from each inner tube 1 while cooling hydrocarbon gas is injected from each outer tube 2 to perform steel-making refining. In this case, the half number of the tuyeres T1-T7 are used as refining ones while the inner tubes 1 of the other tuyeres are filled with refractory such aa alumina to set said tuyeres as non-operative ones. In this case, the inner tubes 1 of the operative tuyeres and ones of the non-operative ones are alternately exchanged to oxygen permeable inner tubes and inner tubes closed by alumina. By alternately operating the tuyeres, the damage of tuyeres themselves or the refractory materials in the vicinity of the tuyeres is reduced and the operation efficiency of the steel making furnace is enhanced. |
