PURPOSE:To prevent an original from shifting in position when a platen cover is closed and to eliminate a waste in copying by providing an original movement preventing member which is sectioned in an L shape to one side of an original platen glass support frame, and preventing the movement of the original. CONSTITUTION:The original movement preventing member 6 which is sectioned in the L shape is fitted to the original platen glass support frame 2 which supports the platen glass 1 so that its one side faces the original plate glass 1. When a copy is taken, the original 7 is arranged while pressed between the holding member 6 and glass 1. Consequently, even when the original is light or easy to slip, the original 9 never shifts in position beyond an effective copying range owing to a flow of air generated when the platen cover is closed, and a waste in copying due to the cut of an image is prevented.
