The present invention concerns a method for permitting inspection and servicing of equipment laid in a chamber in the ground and an arrangement for carrying out this method. Swedish Patent Specification 430 290 discloses a two-chamber system for an installation unit with a second portable chamber, a service chamber, above ground. However, the system has had disadvantages as regards the transportation and positioning of the service chamber. There have also been problems with water penetrating through the opening to the chamber in the ground. The invention proposes a solution to these problems and others, characterized in that the service chamber is transported on a trailer to the correct site, an opening in its floor being positioned over the opening in the ground, in that three or more vertically adjustable legs on the chamber are caused to lift the chamber from the trailer, in that the trailer which has a track width less than at least a pair of legs is withdrawn, in that the chamber is lowered to a suitable working height, normally with the floor near the ground, and is placed in a horizontal position, the legs being driven individually, and in that the cover over the opening in the ground is lifted off and then the equipment is lifted from the chamber in the ground. <IMAGE> |
