PURPOSE:To enable a homogeneously molded positive electrode with a desired density to be continuously manufactured by providing the end pushing surface of a pressure punch with a tapered or spherical surface for allowing a surplus mixture to escape into a hopper. CONSTITUTION:A powder mixture 25 contained in a hopper 15 is pressed and molded in the upper part of a die 14 by moving down a pressure punch 16. At this point, a surplus powder mixture escapes into the hopper 15 along the tapered surface of the pressure punch 16 and therefore a mixture 24 contained in the upper part of the die 14 is not excessively compressed, thereby homogeneously molding the mixture 24 into a body with a desired density. Additionally, since a zinc can 13 is fixed by a stopper 20, the mixture 24 protruding from the lower end of the die 14 is airtightly packed into the bottom corners of the zinc can 13. |
