PURPOSE:To attain to enhance toughness and anti-wear property, by constituting the titled slide material from a predetermined ratio of Mo, Cu, P, C and so as to contain carbide based on Mo2C in a dispersed state. CONSTITUTION:The titled slide material consists of, on a wt. basis, 10-30% Mo, 0.5-5% Cu, 0.2-0.7% P, 1.5-3.5% C and the remainder of Fe and has carbide based on Mo2C uniformly dispersed in the matrix thereof. The aforementioned carbide has an average particle size of 2-25mum and an areal ratio of 10-40%. The above-mentioned slide material is extremely small in aggressivity to an opposed object and has high toughness and excellent abrasion resistance.
