<p>The machine, in particular a ballast scarifier and screening machine, is equipped with a main removal chain (6) whose lower side (6a) passes below the track, and at least one auxiliary removal device (12, 12'), arranged on one side of the frame (3) of the machine in front of the main removal chain (6), for collecting ballast at the sites of switches. This machine advances along a service track provisionally replacing the switch. The device is arranged so as to convey the material to be excavated which is situated outside the range of the main removal chain (6) into the radius of action of the latter; the position of this auxiliary removal device (12, 12'), which may be an removal chain or a mechanical shovel, can be regulated to adjust its radius of action. <IMAGE></p> |
