<p>A lock is operated when the correct optical key is inserted between an array of photoemitters and a similar array of photoreceivers, the key closing a switch when fully inserted to allow current to be supplied to the circuitry associated with the photoreceivers. Such a lock is particularly applicable to protection against unauthorised access into a space or to a machine.</p> |
