PURPOSE:To shorten a overhead time and to improve the processing speed by providing plural registers and generating a task number when an event occurs and selecting a register set corresponding to the task number to perform data processing. CONSTITUTION:A control (C) unit 14 selects a corresponding task in accordance with an event occurrence signal 1d inputted from an external device and determines a register set corresponding to the task. A bus unit B13 reads out instruction words from a main memory through a data bus 1b and sends them to the C unit 14 through a bus 1h. The C unit 14 determines a physical register number 1e and outputs it to a RAM11 and outputs a control signal 1f to an execution (E) unit 12. The E unit 12 takes in contents of the multiregister set corresponding to the register number 1e through a register bus 1a on a basis of the control signal 1f and operates instructions.
