New substituted alkanethiocarboxylic acid derivatives of the formula < IMG > (I) in which A represents nitrogen or a CH grouping, x1 represents hydrogen, triflouromethyl or chlorine, x2 and x3 independently of one another represent hydrogen, triflouromethyl or chlorine, R1 represents hydrogen or methyl and R2 represents hydrogen or optionally substituted radicals from the series comprising alkyl, alkanyl, alkinyl, aryl, aralkyl, aralkoxyalkyl and cycloalkyl, and a process for the preparation of the novel compounds and their use as herbicides. |
