PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of purifying ability for exhaust gas, by a method wherein, when a difference in speed between a driving wheel and a driven wheel or speed ratio exceeds a given value, slip control is effected through control or suppression of engine torque, and air-fuel ratio feedback control is prohibited in relation to an air-fuel ratio control means. CONSTITUTION:In an engine provided with an air-fuel ratio control means M1 which maintains an air-fuel ratio at a given value through feedback control of a fuel feed amount according to O2 concentration in exhaust gas detected by an O2 sensor, speed detecting means M2 and M3, which detect rotation speeds of a driving wheel and a driven wheel, respectively. Further, a torque control means M4, which controls the torque of an engine through control of fuel injection amount of shut off of fuel, is provided. When a difference in speed between the driving and driven wheels or a speed ratio therebetween exceeds a given value, slip control is effected through control of the control means M4 by means of a slip control means M5, and air-fuel ratio feedback control is prohibited with the aid of the air-fuel ratio control means M1. |
