PURPOSE:To improve remarkably the recognizing capability of shape and profile of a recognition object by synthesizing a shade pattern produced by plural illuminating devices switched alternately in flashing at a prescribed angle from a direction different from each other. CONSTITUTION:When one illuminatig device 4a is lighted by a light flashing device 6, a shadow is produced to a recognition object shape 2 of a recognition object 2, a dark shade picture A1 is displayed on a CRT9a and the dark shade picture A1 is recorded to a picture storage memory 7 by a dark shade part recorder 8. Then the device 4a is extinguished and the other illuminating device 4b is lighted, a shade is produced to the recognition object shape 2 of the recognition object 1, a dark shape picture A2 different from the dark shade picture A1 is displayed, and when it is recorded overlappingly on the data inputted before to the picture storage memory 7, the same dark shade picture A as the recognition object shape 2 is obtained. Then a characteristic parameter of the pattern is extracted by a picture processing unit 9 based on the said data. |
