PURPOSE:To reduce crosstalk between tracks and to stabilize recording magnetization by recording digital data so that the absolute value of the accumulated values of two positive and negative magnetization is set to a fixed value or less in a vertical magnetization recording and setting the guard band width to a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Magnetization is alternately inverted in accordance with data to be recorded in a vertical magnetization film 11 on a substrate 12 and its leaked magnetic flux 14 is returned to magnetization 13 through the adjacent magnetization 15 to constitute a close magnetic circuit. When a repeated pattern of bits such as [110] is recorded however, the positive and negative magnetization on the magnetization film 11 appears alternately at the length T, 2T respectively, so that a closed magnetic circuit is not formed between magnetized films. The closed magnetic circuit can be easily formed between adjacent magnetized films by limiting the absolute value of the accumulated magnetization less than a fixed value (3T/2). In addition, right and left magnetization on the tracks is balanced by setting up the guard band width between the tracks two times or more the accumulated magnetic value. Thus, the recording magnetization is stabilized and the crosstalk between the tracks is reduced. |
