PURPOSE:An antiallergic agent, containing a partially novel specific benzamide derivative, e.g. N-isobutyl-3,4,-methylenedioxybenzamide, and capable of exhibiting various antiallergic action with low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:An antiallergic agent containing a compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are H, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, or R1 and R2 together form lower alkylene, preferably H, <=4C alkyl or methylene; X and Y are different H, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, X and Y together if necessary form heterocyclic ring residue containing another heteroatom, preferably H, <=10C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl). The above-mentioned compound is capable of exhibiting improved antiallergic action in passive dermal anaphlaxis reaction, bronchodilator action, Schultz-Dale reaction and improved antiallergic action in histamine lethal ratio with low toxicity. The agent is used in the form suitable to oral administration or spray onto the bronchus or throat, etc. |
