<p>PURPOSE:To omit a step of sticking a sheet and a bound fiber layer, by superposing and joining a bound fiber layer and a sheet. CONSTITUTION:While fiber 1 is being conveyed on a conveyor 2, a binder 4 is fed in a prescribed quantity, and the fiber 1 and the binder 4 are mixed uniformly by a drum mixer 5, and are interlaced by an interlacing machine 6 into a fiber interlaced body 1C. The fiber interlaced body 1C is conveyed by conveyors 7, 8 and a thermally softenable sheet 11 paid out from a roll 11A is superposed thereon by a pressing roll 12. As a thermally softenable sheet can be mentioned an asphalt type or thermoplastic synthetic resin type sheet that can be joined without using an adhesive. Then the superposed body is introduced into a heating furnace 9 wherein it is heated and pressed between a pair of pressing conveyors 9A, and the fiber interlaced body 1C is molded into a bound fiber layer 1D in the form of a mat. In this case, the binding agent 4 binds the fiber 1, and the thermally softenable sheet 1 is softened to be joined to the bound fiber layer 1D.</p> |
