PURPOSE:To obtain an ink dot printer which can copy as required by strengthening the drive force of a drive unit with a drive force switching mechanism which varies the drive force of a drive unit. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 18 attracts an armature 20 by selectively energizing from a drive power source, a movable end 19 pushes the rear end of a needle 8 to fly the needle 8. The drive force of the electromagnet 18 which flies the needle 8 can be selected by a drive force switching mechanism 23. When a copy switch 24 is set to C1, the voltage from the drive power source connected to T1, T2 is applied to the electromagnet 18 without decreasing. When the switch 24 is set to C2, the voltage reduced by a resistor 25 is applied to the electromagnet 18. When the switch 24 is set to C1, the needle 8 is impacted to a record sheet 2, and when the switch 24 is set to C2, the needle 8 is merely contacted with the sheet 2. Thus, two types of dot printer functions can be obtained merely by switching the switch 24. |
