METHOD FOR MEASURING VENTING OF GAS IN DIE CASTING CAVITY

PURPOSE:To judge whether the venting of gas is adequate or inadequate by exerting a specified pressure to the inside of the cavity formed to dies and measuring the pressure in the cavity during the pressurization. CONSTITUTION:A pressure measuring hole 21 communicating with a cooling water path 20 is punched to the top end 11 of a plunger 10 and the hole 21 is opened into a sleeve part 8. The path 20 is connected to a flexible hose 22 provided to the outside of a plunger 10 and a pressure sensor 23 is attached to the front end thereof. An injection cylinder 9 is driven to advance the plunger 10 and to exert a specified pressure to the inside of the part 8 while a molten steel is not poured. The pressure in the part 8 during the pressurization is measured with the sensor 23 and whether venting is adequate or inadequate is judged.
