909,455. Baling-machines. MASSEY-FERGUSON S.A. April 2, 1959 [April 8, 1958], No. 10964/58. Class 94(1). A device for slewing bales being ejected from an agricultural baler, to facilitate their delivery to the side of the machine, comprises wheels having different peripheral speeds, one of which is driven by an issuing bale and the other of which drives the same bale to slew it. The bales pass over supports 19, 20, 22, 26, 27, 28 and are engaged by a guide rail 35. Beneath the supports 19, 20,. 22 are wheels 43, 46 fixed on a shaft 40. The wheel 46 is of larger diameter than the wheel 43 and the shaft 40 is mounted at an angle so that they project equal amounts above the supports. The wheel 43 consists of a pair of discs having teeth adapted to be engaged by the bale to rotate the shaft 40 and wheel 46. The latter has oppositely facing teeth so that it drives the bale, and being of larger diameter, slews it. The members 26, 27, 28, 35 may be removed and repositioned so that bales may be guided to the side opposite to that shown. The shaft 40 is also removeable for reversing the position of the wheels for such delivery.
