PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a rotary electric machine by forming a support of a material which is nonmagnetic and excellent thermal conductive, thereby effectively cooling and preventing a field magnetic flux from leaking. CONSTITUTION:A rotary electric machine is composed in a housing 1 of an armature 2, a rotational shaft 4 rotatably supported through a bearing 5 with a support 19, a crossing pole 7 mounted integrally with the yoke 6 of the shaft 4, a cylindrical yoke 11 disposed in a space 8 between the yoke 6 and the pole 7, and a field winding 12 provided on the yoke, and of a cooling fan 16 and a cover 17. In this case, the suport 19 is formed, for example, of a material which is nonmagnetic and excellent thermal conductive such as an aluminum alloy. Thus, cold air 18 is fed from the fan 16 to the support 19 to effectively cool the heat generated in the field winding 12 through the yoke 11. |
