PURPOSE:To make a floating part, etc., small and reduce the size of the detector by throwing an electro-acoustic converter body into the sea and extracting the floating part, suspension cable, etc., from the converter body, and then forming an air chamber in the converter body and reducing the weight under the water. CONSTITUTION:When the electro-acoutic converter body is thrown into the sea, its upper lid is opened and an underwater battery 7 is activated. Gas generators 8 and 9 generate gas through a conductor 10. The gas from the gas generator 8 allows the float 11 of the floating part 1 to be extracted. The gas from the gas generator 9 is spouted to below a piston 12 to form the air chamber 13 in the converter and also move up the piston 12, thereby allowing the suspension cable 2 and an electric circuit 3 to be extracted. Then, the float 11 floats on the sea and the acoustic converter is suspended with the cable 14 to perform detection by an acoustic conversion part 4. Thus, the air chamber 13 is formed in the converter, so the underwater weight is reduced and the float 11 with small capacity and the suspension cable which is thin and lightweight are usable, thereby reducing the size of the detector. |
