摘要 PURPOSE:To develop a high-rigidity rolling stand capable of easily adjusting a gap between upper and lower rolls by connecting the upper and lower chocks of a mill to each other by plural rods and fixing the lower ends of rods to the lower chock and connecting the upper chock to the rods freely joinably by hydraulic sleeves. CONSTITUTION:An upper chock 11 and a lower chock 12 for upper and lower work rolls 14, 14 are connected to each other by plural rods 13 in a rolling stand. The lower ends of rods 13 are fixed to the inside of lower chock 12 by cotters 19, and their upper parts are fixed to a holding plate 22. A double-cylindrical hydraulic sleeve 20 formed into an annular oil chamber S by seal welding its upper and lower ends is fitted to the outer circumference of an penetrating part of rod 13 in the upper chock 11. Then the upper chock 11 and the rod 13 are tightly joined together, and the gap between the upper and lower rolling rolls 14, 14 is kept constant by supplying a pressurized oil from an oil inlet to the chamber S of sleeve 20 to expand radially the sleeve 20. The joining between the rod 13 and the upper chock 11 is released by releasing the oil pressure to freely change the position of the upper work roll 11.
