<p>PURPOSE:To avoid unnecessary high-temperature fixing to reduce power and improve finishing by dividing a carrying path in accordance with materials of a copy paper and switching a fixing temperature. CONSTITUTION:If materials of the copy paper are thick and are difficult to bend, the copy paper is carried from a passage A by rolls 6; but if the copy paper is thin, it is carried from a passage B by rolls 7. Paper passage sensors 13 and 13' are provided in passages A and B. The copy paper whose passage is detected passes rolls 12, and a latent image is transferred to the copy paper from an image carrier 11 in a transfer part 14, and a toner is heated to fix the image by a fixing roll 10. The heating temperature is switched to a high temperature or a low temperature in accordance with the output of the paper passage sensor 13 or 13'. Thus, unnecessary high-temperature fixing is voided to reduce power, and the fixing capacity is improved.</p> |
