PURPOSE:To execute easiy and without a mistake switching of a setting condition of a normal development and an inversion development by providing a means to be discriminated by which an electrostatic recording device body can discriminate an electrifying polarity of a toner supplied by a developing output, on a developing device. CONSTITUTION:As for a developing device, a developing device I provided with only a discriminating projection 2f for giving discriminating information of a developing unit 2, and a device II which is provided with two pieces of 2f and 2f' are prepared, and a normal developer and a developer used for an inversion development are loaded to that of one piece and that of two pieces, respectively. In this state, when the developing device I is installed to a recording device body, a corona discharge is executed by the same polarity as an electrification of a photosensitive body 3 to a transfer electrode 6. When the developing device I is removed and II is installed, the polarity of the transfer electrode becomes the same polarity as the electrification of the photosensitive body 3 by the photo-discriminating projections 2f, 2f' and an invertion development is executed. When such a developing device is used, switching of a setting condition of a normal development and an inversion development can be executed easily and without a mistake. |
