DEVICE FOR TREATING MOLTEN IRON

PURPOSE:To provide the titled device which removes impurities with high efficiency and can treat discretely slags by providing flux-blowing lances in the respective reaction areas partitioned by skimmers on the down stream of the position where the slag spout of the tapping spout of a blast furnace are connected and providing the individual slag discharge spouts to the respective areas. CONSTITUTION:Reaction areas 4a-4c are provided in series on the down stream of the position where a slag spout 2 is connected to a tapping spout 1 by providing >=3 skimmers 3a-3d which are spaced from the base of the spout 1 and are dipped at the bottom end into the molten iron 5 flowing in the spout apart from each other. Powder fluxes for de-Si, de-P and de-S from refining agent tanks 8a-8c are blown into the molten iron 5 flowing in the respective areas from lances 6a-6c which are provided by a suitable number each in the respective areas 4 by detaching the top ends therefrom from the surface of the molten iron 5 in order to prevent erosion. The slags 7a-7c formed in such a way are discharged through the spouts 9a-9c connected to the side walls of the spout 1 in the respective areas 4 into the spout 2.
