PURPOSE:To enable stable continuous casting with a casting device of a twin drum type by dividing stationary gates to parts to contact with a molten metal and water-cooling rolls and using optimum refractory materials according to the respective parts. CONSTITUTION:Stationary gates 2 are divided to parts 2a to slide with horizontal rolls 1, 1' and parts 2b to contact with a molten metal 4 and said parts 2a, 2b are formed respectively of refractory materials meeting the respective functions (for example, ZrO2 or Al2O3 for the parts 2a and BN, Si3N4 for the parts 2b), thereby constituting the titled device of a twin drum type. The above-described twin drum type method is a method for pouring a molten metal 4 into the space formed of the rolls 1, 1' and the gates 2 and obtaining a thin plate. Cracking of the gates 2 owing to thermal impact is eliminated and the thin plate 3 is stably and continuously cast by the above-mentioned device.
