PURPOSE:To improve a production efficiency by providing a fixed position control device on a double stroke cold header, and also providing the first holding device for inserting and drawing out a detaining pin of the second forming punch holder and the second holding device for installing a punch. CONSTITUTION:When changing the second forming punch 6, a horizontal ram is stopped at a prescribed position. The first holding device 13 is operated by a control device 16, and a detaining pin 12 in a punch holder 4 is caught by a pin chuck 13a and thereafter, drawn out. A punch chuck 15a of the second holding device 15 catches the second forming punch 6, and discards the punch 6 by an air cylinder 15b. Subsequently, the chuck 15a catches a new punch 6 by an air cylinder 16b, inserts it into the punch holder 4 and unchucks it. The operation is executed by synchronizing with a control signal, therefore, the change of the forming punch 6 is automated, and a production efficiency and a quality can be improved.
