PURPOSE:To maintain the accuracy at the end faces of rolls and to enable stable continuous casting with a casting device of a twin drum type by disposing freely attachably and detachably collars consisting of the same material as the material of the rolls in the sliding parts between the end faces of the rolls and stationary gates. CONSTITUTION:Collars 8 formed of the same or equal material as or to the material of horizontal rolls 1, 1' (for example, a copper alloy or steel material) are disposed freely attachably and detachably in the sliding parts between the end faces of the rolls 1, 1' and stationary gates 2, 2', thereby constituting the titled device of a twin drum type. The above-described twin drum type method is a method for pouring a molten metal 4 into the space formed of the rolls 1, 1' and the gates 2, 2' and obtaining a thin plate 3. The end faces of the rolls 1, 1' are easily exchanged by the above-mentioned device, by which the end faces of the rolls 1, 1' are maintained always with good accuracy and the plate 3 is stably and continuously cast.
