The invention relates to a split tie rod for cutting tools with interchangeable tool head, which tie rod consists of a rear tie-rod part, which is rotatably arranged in the tool holder and can be actuated by a screwing tool, and of a front tie-rod part which is axially displaceable in the rear tie-rod part and in the tool holder and can be brought into operative connection with the tool head. The aim of the invention is to simplify the automatic tool change in cutting tools with interchangeable tool head. The object of the invention is to perfect the design of the tie-rod parts and to arrange them in such a way that no axial movement of the screwing tool is necessary for actuating the tie rod. This object is achieved in that - the front tie-rod part is axially secured in the tool holder and has an inner polygonal profile, and - the front tie-rod part has a shank end corresponding to the inner polygonal profile of the rear tie-rod part, is provided with an external thread at its front end, and is flexibly supported against the rear tie-rod part. The invention can be applied to cutting tools with interchangeable tool heads, in particular during the automatic tool change. |
