PURPOSE:To carry out the automatic control of the flow of circulating air, by inputting the amount of discharged coke and the volume of air per unit coke to the preliminarily stored data of characteristic curve, calculating the corresponding pressure drop, and controlling the opening of a dampler so as to coincide the calculated value with the actual pressure drop. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic curve data of the relationship between the flow rate of the circulation air flowing through the circulation system 6 and detected by the gas flow sensor 14 and the pressure drop caused by the circulation fan 4 and obtained by the pressure difference detected by the pressure sensors 15, 16 are stored in the memory of the controller 12. The characteristic data of the discharged coke temperature corresponding to the air flow rate per unit coke is also stored in the memory of the controller 12 making the amount of the discharged coke as a parameter. During the operation of the apparatus, the desired air flow rate per unit coke and the amount of discharged coke are inputted from the input setting device 19 into the controller 12, and the necessary amount of the circulation gas is calculated by the controller 12. The corresponding pressure drop is calculated from the above data of the curve, and the damper-driving apparatus is controlled so as to coincide the calculated value with the actual pressure drop.
