PURPOSE:The titled wire, obtained by coating a conductor with a coating material consisting essentially of a specific polyhydroxy ether, easily fusible, having improved distortion resistance and hardness after fusing, and suitable to deflection yoke coils. CONSTITUTION:A self-fusible insulated wire obtained by coating a conductor with a coating material consisting essentially of a polyhydroxy ether prepared by reacting (A) a compound having two phenolic OH groups in a molecule consisting of at least partially mononuclear dihydric phenol, preferably hydroquinone with (B) a compound expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are H or CH3; n is an integer 0-10) directly or through another insulator, and baking the resultant coat.
