Valve control for showers with a cock plug 8 of a ball valve 1, which plug can be turned stepwise by 90 DEG and is intended to open and close the valve. In order to manage with battery power, a high-speed electric motor 3 with a reduction gear mechanism is used. The cock plug 8 turns a cam plate 9 which bears, on the upper side, four cams 10a for actuating a changeover switch S4 and, on the underside, two cams for actuating a changeover switch S3. The changeover switches are part of an electronic switch-on and final switch-off means for the stepwise turning of the cock plug. In conjunction with timers and pulse counters, the electronics permit showerings of, for example, 40 seconds to be called up, by means of push buttons, individually and following pauses and, having reached a programmed number of individual showerings, permit the power supply to be switched off. <IMAGE>
