PURPOSE:To converge ink pressure in a short time by reading out a pump drive correction coefficient from a memory on the basis of the speed by ink speed detecting means, and multiplying it by the difference of the detected speed corresponding value for the target speed corresponding value, thereby obtaining a correction coefficient. CONSTITUTION:A CPU22 interrupts a deflecting a electric field at pressure regulating time to charge ink particles, simultaneously counts clock pulses of a generator 21, and detects the ink particle speed on the basis of a signal from a charge detector 19 connected with a gutter. Then, a certain pump drive signal is applied to a driver 15 to operate an ink pressurizing pump, a pump drive correction coefficient is read out from a memory 28 on the basis of the detected ink speed, the coefficient is multiplied by the difference of the detected speed corresponding value for the target speed corresponding value to obtain a correction value, the previous pump drive signal is corrected by the correction value to drive the pump through the pump driver 15. Thus, the ink pressure can be converged to the target value in a relatively short time, and the converging error can be reduced to ultrafine value. |
