PURPOSE:To enable overlap printing from being erroneously designated for not less than 3 lines, by a method wherein character series information and line pitch data fed from an input means are stored, and the line pitch is inhibited from being inputted successively for not less than n lines. CONSTITUTION:The line pitch and a series of characters are inputted into a document memory DBUF through a keyboard KB. When the present cursor position in a cursor register CR is in the first row and a key input is 0-9, the input is made to be a designation of line pitch, and when the designation is not 0, a CPU unconditionally stores the key-inputted number into the first row as a designated value of line pitch for the line in which the present cursor position is located. When 0 is inputted, and if the present line is not the head line and the line pitch is 0, the subsequent processing is suspended. On the other hand, if the present line is the last line, the inputted line pitch is stored, and if the present line is not the last line and the line pitch for the next line is 0, the subsequent processing is suspended. Accordingly, the overlap printing with a line pitch of 0 can be prevented from being erroneously designated for not less than 3 lines. |
