PURPOSE:To maintain the strength of a coupling part, by a method wherein U- shaped link, positioned astride an arm head, is pivotally secured closer to the wiper pivot side than to a retainer coupling part at the side of the free end part of the arm head of a wiper and in a position where it is offset in a level lower than that of the coupling part. CONSTITUTION:A retainer 3 is formed in a short size, and meanwhile, a link member 11 is formed in an elongated U-shape being long enough to allow it to extend astride the retainer 3, the coupling part of the retainer 3, a spring 8, and the surrounding of a link member 11 mounting part are covered with a cover 13 of a resin material, formed in a U-shape in cross section. The end of an arm piece 6 is caulked to the upper surface of the retainer 3 by means of a pin 7, a bracket 4 is caulked to the under surface of the middle part of the arm piece 6 by means of pins 15, and the end of the spring 8 is engaged with the bracket 14. The resin cover 13 is forced into resilient frictional engagement with the sides of the arm piece 6, and the link member 11 is contained and concealed at the interior of the side wall of the rear end part. |
