PURPOSE:To obtain a clear multicolor image on an ordinary paper, by a method wherein a thermal transfer sheet provided with four leuco dye layer capable of forming four respective different colors and a color developer layer in a set is used, and the dye layer for a desired color and the color developer layer are transferred onto a receiving sheet. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer sheet is used in which the leuco dye layers a-d capable of forming yellow, magenta, cyan and black colors and the color developer layer (e) are repeatedly arranged. The layers are arranged by a method wherein the color developer layer (e) is provided at one side end part and the leuco dye layers a-d are sequentially provided at the other side end part, or other method. The leuco dye layers and the color developer layer can be provided by using leuco dyes, a color developer, porous fillers, thermoplastic resins or the like which are used for known thermal recording papers. The transfer sheet thus obtained is placed on a receiving sheet, following by heating by a thermal printer or the like in accordance with color tone information, whereby the leuco dyes and the color developer are transferred and brought into reaction. |
