摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce a cycle time required for cutting a work, by omitting the final cycle of rough cutting when the final depth of cut is smaller than the preset value after a tool cuts the work into its one root. CONSTITUTION:When a lathe cuts a work, a tool 2 placed in a starting point A of cutting cuts the work into a point B with a certain tilt angle and a root of the work from the point B to a point C along a Z-axis. Next, the tool 2, after it cuts the work upward from the point C to a point D with a certain tilt angle, is quickly fed from the point D along the Z-axis and returned to the starting point of cutting. Then it is decided whether or not the tool 2, after its cutting of the root advances, performs the final cutting, and if the tool is not in the final cutting, it continues cutting action, while if the tool is in the final cutting, it is decided whether or not a depth of cut is smaller than the preset value. Here this cycle of rough cutting is finished when the depth of cut is decided smaller than the preset value.
