In the case of an arrangement for transmitting supply energy by light, the voltage which is produced at the receiving end (41) by photodiodes (23, 24) is stepped up by means of a transformer (35). In this case, the chopping of the current which is supplied to the transformer is carried out by chopping the light on the transmission side (40). In one advantageous embodiment, light of two different wavelengths is transmitted alternately and is processed in a push-pull manner in the transformer (35).
