The device for indicating the braking process in motor vehicles comprises a brake light switch which closes, by actuation of the main brake cylinder, a circuit which contains rear brake lights. In order to be able to indicate to the vehicle travelling behind that the vehicle travelling in front is one which is equipped with a brake system with an anti-blocking system, the circuit containing the brake lights and the brake light switch can be successively opened and closed at short intervals when the main brake cylinder is actuated.
