PURPOSE:To simplify a shift key operation for switching character types by converting a part to be written in KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) into KATAKANA after inputting by HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary). CONSTITUTION:When a conversion key CK is pressed after inputting in HIRAGANA, conversion process is started. A device transfers 10 characters from a head, for example, ''This camera's lens...'' to an extraction memory CM, and compares whether it is in a KATAKANA dictionary CD. If coincidence is not obtained, the device deletes character by character, where because the coincidence is not obtained even the contents of the extraction memory CM ''ko'' is available, a pointer OP becomes 2 and ''of the camera's lens...'' is transferred to the extraction memory CM to repeat processing. When the coincidence for ''camera'' is obtained in the KATAKANA dictionary CD, the device converts it into ''camera.'' After completion of conversion processing, ''camera'' and ''lens'', etc., are converted into KATAKANA. |
