In order to prevent leaks of the induction coil arrangement due to deformation or twisting of the clamping and equalising rings (8,9) which engage the coil at the end face, in a gastight induction furnace operating under vacuum or pressure, the coil body is compressed in the axial direction by tie rods (20), each tie rod having hook-shaped clamping elements (30,34;40,41) which apply axially to the coil body the forces serving to brace the induction coil (7). The clamping elements are situated on a threaded rod (21), the upper clamping element (30) being displaceable so that it can be tightened by means of a clamping nut (32). <IMAGE>
