Using the device (1) and (1a) for de-icing frozen-up windows of lorries and passenger cars, a solution is to be provided for eliminating the ice on the windows without a particular expenditure in terms of effort, force and time. This is achieved in that the device (1) which is provided with flat scrapers which are to be moved by machine, clears ice from the windows by means of the motor-driven movements of the said scrapers without the user applying force. <IMAGE>
