PURPOSE:To prevent an aliminum electrode from deterioration in the manufacturing process of a fluorescent character display tube by forming the first layer of the electrode of an alminum thin film while forming the second layer of an acid-proof conductive thin film and thereafter forming a phosphor material. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum film 2 is formed all over the surface of a light transmitting insulation substrate 1 of glass or the like by sputtering and a vacuum evaporation method. Next, tin oxide 7 is formed on the whole surface of the glass plate 1, on which aluminum is formed all over the surface by the same method of the sputtering and vacuum evaporation. A desired pattern is formed by means of a photoetching technique. Next, an insulation layer 3 is formed on the part except the display part by a printing method or the like while making it to closely adhere to the glass plate completely through a heating process. A phosphor material 4 is also formed by the same method so as to hold the proper thickness. The grids 5 and a filament 6 are formed by turns so as to hold an appropriate distance from the phosphor screen while finally sealing the whole airtightly. |
