The arrow (2) which is placed on the arrow track (3) on the crossbow stock (1) is accelerated by a slide (5) which moves along the arrow track and is connected to the string (4) of the crossbow. At its end (5.1) facing the arrow (2), the slide (5) has a magnet (6) with a pole surface (6.1) facing the arrow end, and the arrow (2) at this arrow end has an armature pin (7) consisting of material which can at least be magnetised, so that the arrow (2) is held on the slide (5) magnetically by the armature pin (7) stopping on the pole surface (6.1), but can immediately be released from the slide (5) at the end of its acceleration movement, against the magnetic attraction force. <IMAGE>
