PURPOSE:To permit to effect the ascending and descending operations of the wick with very small force by a method wherein the point of transformation of a shape memory spring is positioned at the intermediate temperature between an atmospheric high temperature under the burning condition of the burner and the atmospheric low temperature under the burner is being put off. CONSTITUTION:The point of transformation of the shape memory spring 8 is set so as to be positioned at the intermediate temperature between the atmospheric high temperature under the burning condition of the burner and the atmospheric low temperature under the extinguished condition of the burner and the swing moment of a bias spring 9 is set at the intermediate moment between the swing moment of the shape memory spring 8 with respect to an arm 7 upon high temperature and the same moment upon low temperature. Under a condition that the wick is being descended, the burner is being extinguished, the temperature of the shape memory spring 8 is lower than the point of transformation thereof and the tension thereof is weak, therefore, the arm 7 tries to swing toward ascending posture of the wick, however, the descending posture is kept since the arm 7 is retained by a wick-down engaging piece 12. Under a condition that the wick is being ascended, the burner is being burnt, therefore, the temperature of the shape memory spring 8 is higher than the point of transformation thereof, the tension thereof is strong and the arm 7 tries to swing toward the wick-descending posture, but the wick-ascending posture may be kept by the wick-ascending engaging piece 11. |
