PURPOSE:To attain slow reproducing method by controlling an electromechanical converting element with a signal obtained from the signal processing of a track error signal. CONSTITUTION:The tracking error signal is outputted from a tracking error detection circuit 23 and stored in a tracking error memory circuit 24. An output of the circuit 24 adds outputs of a still pattern forming circuit 28 and gives the result to a drive circuit 26 so as to drive the electromechanical converting element 21 thereby giving a displacement to a magnetic head 20. A level discriminating circuit 25 discriminates whether or not the magnetic head 20 is moved by two-track at its noncontact period depending on the input signal level. THe circuit 24 compares an error signal at a terminal 40 with an output value of a one-frame delay circuit 46 and the output value of the circuit 46 is corrected minutely and the result is inputted again to the circuit 46. The output value of an FG counter 27 is inputted from a terminal 41 and when a command from the circuit 25 is inputted from a terminal 42, a switch 47 is turned on for one frame period and the error amount corresponding to the two-track is inputted to the circuit 46.
