PURPOSE:To obtain the cleaning device of a fixing roll which holds a stable fixing capacity for a long period and is very easy to maintain and is economical, by allowing the fresh part of a cleaning member to face the fixing roll properly. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning device 24 consists of the cleaning member 25 having a sliding surface 25a, which is slided on the peripheral surface of a fixing roll 20 to clean the roll 20, and a cleaning member moving means 26 which moves the cleaning member 25 transversely to allow the fresh part of the cleaning member 25 to face the fixing roll 20 before the cleaning capacity of the cleaning member 25 is degraded, for example, when 2,000-3,000 copies are obtained. The cleaning member 25 consists of felt materials impregnated with 30-50% silicone oil by weight. |
