PURPOSE:To constitute an attenuator with simple comstitution and a wide operating frequency band by connecting one end of each of plural branch resistors to resistors to which an input and an output terminal of a signal is connected in a way of branching and connecting distributed constant lines having different length respectively to the other end of said branch resistors. CONSTITUTION:The attenuator consists of two resistors R connected in series between an input line A and an output line B, two branch resistors R2, R3 whose one end is connected respectively to a connecting end of the two resistors R, and distributed constant lines 2, 3 connected respectively to the other end of the branch resistors R2 and R3. Various data where the attenuator is formed on a ceramic substrate (compact factor = nearly 0.4) are as follows: A, B are strip lines having 50OMEGA of impedance, R, R1, R3 are resistors of 35.0OMEGA, 18.2OMEGA 20.0OMEGA and 24.0OMEGA, and the characteristic impedance of the distributed constant lines 1, 2, 3 is 50OMEGA, the lengths L1, L2, L3 are respectively nearly 5.0mm., nearly 4.0mm. and nearly 6.4mm. (the lengths of free space are respectively 12.5mm., 10.0mm. and 16.0mm.), and then the attenuator is much miniaturized and formed with the film forming technology. |
