PURPOSE:To facilitate the easy handling and also to decrease misoperation with an erasing device by displaying an erasion mode of signals together with the track numbers to be erased. CONSTITUTION:A power supply is switched on to revolve a magnetic disk 1, and a track to be erased is designated by a switch 7. Then a head 5 is set at a position on a disk 1 corresponding to a designated track by a head position control circuit 8. While a character/pattern generating circuit 11 produces the character signals according to the number data of the track designated by the switch 7 and displays the track number to be erased to a display device 12. Then an erasion start command is given to a terminal 9. Thus an erasion control circuit 10 drives an erasion signal generating circuit 3 to start generaion of erasion signals as well as the count of a prescribed period (t) needed for erasion. Then a timer signal TM is delivered to show an elapsing state. The circuit 11 produces a character signal which means the start and end of erasion as well as a signal which shows a variable pattern based on the signal TM. The erasing process is displayed to the device 12. |
