The composition of a check plug in the outflow of molten metals consists of SiO2 of over 95 wt.%, Al2O3 of 2.5-4.0 wt.%, R2O of 1.5- 2.5 wt.% (where R2O is K2O and Na2O). The composition is mixed and fired at proper temperature. The particle-size distribution of the product is above 2.0 mm at below 5%; 1.0-2.0 mm at 60-30 %; 0.5-1.0 mm at 30-60 %; and 0.5 mm at below 5%.
