<p>PURPOSE:To make use of energy of high-temp. molten slag to recover a valuable metal by adding a reducing agent, cast iron powder and chlorinating agent to special steel dust, etc., agglomerating the mixture to lumps, drying and heating the lumps, mixing the same with the high-temp. molten slag and metallizing the valuable metal. CONSTITUTION:The metal and molten slag 4 tapped from an electric furnace 1 for an alloy iron are gravity-separated in a ladle 2 and only the molten slag 4 is stored in a molten slag pan 3. On the other hand, special steel dust, sludge, etc. are mixed with a carbonaceous reducing agent (coke powder, etc.), cast iron powder, chlorinating agent (CaCl2, etc.) and the mixture is briquetted 5 by a briquetting machine 8. The briquettes are dried and preheated by a heater 7 and are prepd. into a feeder 6. The briquettes 5 are dropped from the feeder 6 simultaneously with falling of the molten slag 4 into the pan 3 and both are thoroughly mixed to accelerate a chlorination reduction reaction. The Ni and Fe in the briquettes 5 are thus made into an Fe-Ni alloy. The molten slag 9 which is thoroughly completed of the treatment is cooled to solidify and is fed to a screening stage 10 where the slag is disintegrated and screened. The reduced metallic particles consisting essentially of Ni are recovered.</p> |
